*A Unique Perspective on Horror*

REVIEW

As the title suggests, *In a Violent Nature* unfolds its tale in the heart of a forest in a violent way. As advertised, this film distinguishes itself by adopting the killer's perspective, offering a stark departure from the victim-centric narratives we are accustomed to. Have you ever wondered what the killer is doing off-screen while the main characters go about their desperate survival? This film answers that question.

By focusing on the killer, the film sacrifices screen time for the victims, making it challenging to form an emotional connection with them. As a result, the sense of sympathy and investment typically felt for the characters is diminished. Moreover, the constant presence of the killer eliminates the traditional suspense of wondering when and where he might strike next. which in turn diminishes the overall horror experience.

The cinematography places us behind the killer as he wanders slowly through the forest and stalks his prey. This slow walking, set against the backdrop of the forest's serene beauty, creates a haunting atmosphere. The killer's origins and backstory are revealed through conversations.

The plot centers around a group of teenagers who, upon discovering a locket in the forest and taking it with them, inadvertently resurrect a killer with a disturbing appearance marked by burn scars. As the story unfolds, the killer's origin is gradually revealed through the conversations of other characters.

Where *In a Violent Nature* truly stands out is in its depiction of killing sequences. The film features some of the most brutal and gory killing sequences in the genre, which we haven't seen before. Each kill is meticulously crafted, leaving a lasting impact on the audience.
The film's lack of a traditional score, relying solely on the natural sounds of the forest.

*In a Violent Nature* offers a unique and refreshing take on the slasher genre by presenting the story from the killer's perspective. This approach delivers one of the most brutal and gory films in the genre but comes at the expense of the traditional suspense and creepiness of a slasher film.

REVIEW After 30 years, Axel Foley returns to Beverly Hills. Netflix has revived the franchise, delivering the fourth installment with Eddie Murphy reprising his iconic role. As Axel Foley, Murphy embodies the rule-breaking, street-smart, foul-mouthed, and fast-talking cop from Detroit. Watching Eddie Murphy in the "Beverly Hills Cop" franchise is always a delight, and he remains the heart of the movie. Murphy still has the same charm he exhibited in the original films, though the jokes don't quite hit as hard as they used to. However, there are still a few laughs to be found. The story pic...

The Watchers (2024) Movie Review

PLOT The Watchers follows Mina, a 28-year old artist who gets stranded in an expansive, untouched forest in western Ireland. When Mina finds shelter, she unknowingly becomes trapped alongside three strangers that are watched and stalked by mysterious creatures each night. REVIEW When you hear an unexpected noise when alone in your room, it sends shivers down your spine. No one likes the feeling of being watched, and the thought is enough to creep anyone out. This film taps into the fear of the unknown with that concept plus sound effects. The hauntingly gorgeous backdrop of Ireland's enormous woodlands and craggy landscapes heightens the sensation of isolation. Mina is on a journey when her car breaks down, stranding her in the forest. She soon meets three other lost people, and together they seek sanctuary in an unusual building with one wall totally made of glass, reflecting only their own images.
