Review

"Hit man" (2023), directed by Richard Linklater, is a film that effortlessly blends romance, philosophy, comedy, and crime into a unique story.

The plot centers around Gary, a philosophy teacher in New Orleans, who is interested in technology and watching birds. He also works part-time helping the police. He is unexpectedly forced to take the role of the undercover hitman when the usual operative is unavailable. Surprisingly, He discovers he has a natural talent for this work. The job is to gather information to help imprison clients and prevent murders.

The story takes a turn when Gary encounters Madison, who wants to hire him to deal with her oppressive husband. However, Gary breaks protocol by talking her out of the crime, setting off a chain of events that drives the story forward.

Glen Powell's performance as Gary is noteworthy. His portrayal of various hitman personas is captivating and fun to watch, showcasing his versatility. A star in the making.

Glen Powell and Adria Arjona chemistry is hot and excellent. Their relationship is the heart of the story.

The film is smart and has a well-written script, which delves into philosophical questions about human consciousness, identity, and the potential for change over time. the film asks about the mystery of human consciousness. Can people change over time? What is our identity? The film explores questions like these. All these elements are woven into the crime story.

Borderlands (2024) Movie Review

Borderlands (2024) : A wasted Opportunity  IMdb - 4.3 Rotten Tomatoes (Critics) - 9% | (Audience) - 52% Genre - Action, Sci-Fi Runtime - 1 hour 40 minutes  Rating - PG 13 Review There are some great video game adaptations like "The Last of Us" and "Fallout", and then there are bad ones like "Borderlands" The story follows a rich man named Atlas who hires Lilith, played by Oscar winner Cate Blanchett, to find his missing daughter on the chaotic and lawless planet Pandora, which is also Lilith's home. I liked Lilith's character—she's strong, fearless, and a total badass. During her mission, Lilith meets Roland, played by Kevin Hart, a soldier who was the first to find the missing daughter, Tina. Roland rescues Tina from a prison and escapes with her to Pandora. Tina also meets a new friend named Krieg, who is big, muscular, and wears a mask. He instantly becomes her protector, but there’s no real explanation for why. Lilith also encounters a robo...

Civil War (2024) Movie Review

Plot The story is set in a dystopian near-future America in a civil war. A team of military-embedded journalists traveling from New York to Washington, D.C to interview the President before rebel factions attack the White House. Review   The movie does not provide a clear explanation of how and why the war started. All we know is in the distant future, some Western forces are trying to kill the president. So, people looking for political reasons might not be satisfied. As four journalists journey across the country to interview the president, they encounter a lawless, apocalyptic world divided by small armed groups due to the civil war. It is on the road trip that the film successfully shows us the war's impact on civilians and the harsh realities of life in a fragmented America as realistically as possible. The film also successfully shows us the terror and sacrifices journalists endure to get their stories. It showcases the dangers of their profession, especially during wa...
