Furiosa : A Mad Max Saga (2024) movie review

 PLOT

As the world fell, young Furiosa is snatched from the Green Place of Many Mothers and falls into the hands of a great Biker Horde led by the Warlord Dementus. Sweeping through the Wasteland they come across the Citadel presided over by The Immortan Joe. While the two Tyrants war for dominance, Furiosa must survive many trials as she puts together the means to find her way home.

REVIEW

The world-building in "Furiosa" is truly exceptional. Civilization as we know it has crumbled, leaving behind a post-apocalyptic, lawless wasteland where survival is brutal and savage. The wasteland is predominantly desert and rocky mountains, with food, water, and fuel becoming sacred resources fiercely contested by various clans. This harsh environment demands a ruthless approach to survival. The film does not explain the origin of the wasteland but focuses on the desolate and hostile setting. Director George Miller's vision and cinematography enhance the sense of isolation and hostility, immersing viewers in this bleak world.

Serving as a prequel to "Mad Max: Fury Road" (2015), the film is packed with non-stop action sequences. It's brutal, violent, and immensely satisfying to watch. The storyline is fast-paced, straightforward, and engaging, featuring intense car chases and epic battles. While some may criticize the heavy use of CGI and somewhat video game-like action sequences, the action is undeniably thrilling.

Chris Hemsworth shines as the twisted and ruthless villain named Dementus. The story centers around Furiosa, played by Anya Taylor-Joy, who brilliantly captures Furiosa's raw instinct for survival and determination to return home. The film explores Furiosa's backstory and early life, showcasing her struggle to survive in the wasteland. Both Hemsworth and Taylor-Joy deliver outstanding performances, and the characters' designs are unique and memorable. Despite the relentless action and cruelty of the wasteland, the film weaves in a poignant story about Furiosa.

"Furiosa: Mad Max Saga" is a powerful female-led hero's journey, featuring epic and satisfying action while capturing the harshness of life in the wasteland.

Beverly Hills Cop : Axel F (2024) Review

IMDb - 6.6 Rotten Tomatoes - 66% Genre - Comedy/Action Rating - R Runtime - 1 hour 58 minutes  Director - Adil El Arbi, Bilall Fallah   Cast - Eddie Murphy, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Taylor Paige, Judge Reinhold, Paul Reiser PLOT Axel Foley returns to Beverly Hills after his daughter's life is threatened, and works with old pals John Taggart and Billy Rosewood to uncover a conspiracy. REVIEW After 30 years, Axel Foley returns to Beverly Hills. Netflix has revived the franchise, delivering the fourth installment with Eddie Murphy reprising his iconic role. As Axel Foley, Murphy embodies the rule-breaking, street-smart, foul-mouthed, and fast-talking cop from Detroit. Watching Eddie Murphy in the "Beverly Hills Cop" franchise is always a delight, and he remains the heart of the movie. Murphy still has the same charm he exhibited in the original films, though the jokes don't quite hit as hard as they used to. However, there are still a few laughs to be found. The story pic...

The Watchers (2024) Movie Review

PLOT The Watchers follows Mina, a 28-year old artist who gets stranded in an expansive, untouched forest in western Ireland. When Mina finds shelter, she unknowingly becomes trapped alongside three strangers that are watched and stalked by mysterious creatures each night. REVIEW When you hear an unexpected noise when alone in your room, it sends shivers down your spine. No one likes the feeling of being watched, and the thought is enough to creep anyone out. This film taps into the fear of the unknown with that concept plus sound effects. The hauntingly gorgeous backdrop of Ireland's enormous woodlands and craggy landscapes heightens the sensation of isolation. Mina is on a journey when her car breaks down, stranding her in the forest. She soon meets three other lost people, and together they seek sanctuary in an unusual building with one wall totally made of glass, reflecting only their own images. Every night, they are stalked by mysterious creatures that observe them through ...
