The Killer's Game (2024) Review

Genre: Action, Comedy Runtime: 1 hour 43 minutes Rating: R What’s the story about? Joe Flood, the top hitman in Europe, is diagnosed with a terminal illness. Deciding to go out on his own terms, he hires assassins to kill him. Things get complicated when the hitmen he hires also target his ex-girlfriend. Review Dave Bautista stars as Joe Flood, the world’s best assassin, who is very good at what he does. During one mission, he meets a dancer named Maize (Sofia Boutella). Chaos breaks out in a theater, and Maize gets knocked down in the crowd. Joe helps her, and she thanks him by giving him her number and offering to take him to dinner. Their chemistry is believable, and it’s fun to see Bautista play a more romantic side of his character. Even though Joe is an assassin, he only kills criminals, never innocent people. His boss and mentor, Zvi (Ben Kingsley), is another standout in the film, and Sofia Boutella is great as Joe’s supportive and understanding girlfriend. Joe has been sufferi

Harold and the Purple Crayon (2024) Review

PLOT What’s the story is about? This film is based on the 1955 children’s book by Crockett Johnson. The movie follows a boy named Harold who can draw anything he wants with his purple crayon inside his own book, making anything possible. Harold draws friends named Moose and Porcupine, and they become best friends. One day, Harold wonders who drew him, since they all live in a 2D world. A narrator's voice explains that he drew Harold and he lives in a 3D world. When the narrator's voice disappears, Harold decides to explore the real world and find out what happened to his creator.  REVIEW When Harold enters the real world, he turns into a human, and his friends follow him and they transform too. Zachary Levi plays Harold, and his performance is similar to his previous role as Shazam—he’s a grown man but a child spirit inside. Since they are from a children’s book, they know very little about how the real world works. Their charming performances are enjoyable. They soon realiz

Terminator Zero Review

The Terminator franchise began with James Cameron's 1984, the Terminator, which starred Arnold Schwarzenegger and was a huge hit in the action and science-fiction genres. After almost six years, the sequel, Terminator 2 (1991), was released, and it was even more successful than the original. After the first two films, the franchise went downhill. Now Netflix has now picked up this franchise, this time as an anime adaptation with eight episodes. Positive This time, the story is set in Japan in 1997, offering a fresh take by moving away from John Connor and Arnold's Terminator. The show only briefly references the other movies with a short bit of the iconic Terminator theme but stays separate from the rest of the series. ‌The Terminator films always included time travel, but the franchise hasn't dug further into how time travel works in this reality, something the films haven't thoroughly explored. But this show explains how time travel works in this universe , which a

Inside Out 2 Review

Review  Nine years after the original "Inside Out" (2015), Pixar brings us "Inside Out 2," and it’s well worth the wait. As Riley faces the challenges of adolescence, her emotions—Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear, and Disgust—are once again at the helm, trying to navigate the rollercoaster of changes. But this time, they’re joined by new emotions. With puberty comes new and more complex emotions like Anxiety, Envy, Embarrassment, and Ennui, as Riley adjusts to life in high school. Animation and Visuals The film is stunning with the bright and colorful visuals. Especially in the portrayal of Riley's brain. The landscape of the mind world just got wider and more vibrant. The animation characters are cute. After all, it's a Pixar film. The attention to detail is incredible—the more you look, the more you notice the little things which make the world of "Inside Out 2" so engaging. What's the story about? The story picks up with Riley entering high schoo

Borderlands (2024) Movie Review

Borderlands (2024) : A wasted Opportunity  IMdb - 4.3 Rotten Tomatoes (Critics) - 9% | (Audience) - 52% Genre - Action, Sci-Fi Runtime - 1 hour 40 minutes  Rating - PG 13 Review There are some great video game adaptations like "The Last of Us" and "Fallout", and then there are bad ones like "Borderlands" The story follows a rich man named Atlas who hires Lilith, played by Oscar winner Cate Blanchett, to find his missing daughter on the chaotic and lawless planet Pandora, which is also Lilith's home. I liked Lilith's character—she's strong, fearless, and a total badass. During her mission, Lilith meets Roland, played by Kevin Hart, a soldier who was the first to find the missing daughter, Tina. Roland rescues Tina from a prison and escapes with her to Pandora. Tina also meets a new friend named Krieg, who is big, muscular, and wears a mask. He instantly becomes her protector, but there’s no real explanation for why. Lilith also encounters a robo

Twisters (2024) Movie Review

IMDb - 7 Rotten Tomatoes (Critics) - 75% Genre - Action, Thriller Runtime - 2 hour 2 minutes  Rating - PG - 13 REVIEW Twisters (2024) is one of the most anticipated movies of 2024, serving as a sequel to Twister (1996). However, the two films don't really connect beyond a few references to the original. The movie is packed with fast-paced action, spending most of its time in the middle of a tornado. The CGI and special effects used to create the tornadoes are outstanding, effectively showing us the terror of these destructive natural forces. The film captures the devastating impact of tornadoes, showing how they leave many people devastated and how many lives are lost. The sounds of the wind blowing, heavy rain, and the destruction of buildings, combined with director Lee Isaac Chung's camera work, make the audience feel like they are inside the storm. The film also shows the aftermath of the disasters, which can be terrifying. The film managed toemotionally sympathetic to pe

Despicable Me 4 (2024) Movie Review

IMDb - 6.3 Rotten Tomatoes (Critics) 56% | (Audience) - 88% Genre - Animation, Kids and Family, Comedy Rating - PG Runtime - 1 hour 35 minutes  PLOT Gru and his family welcome a new member, Gru Jr., who is determined to give his father a hard time. He is no longer a villain. He has a family now—his wife, three adopted daughters, and a newborn baby boy who, for some reason, doesn’t like him. The animation is bright and colorful, as it has been in previous films, and the story is fast-paced. The Minions are still up to their usual crazy things, providing plenty of laughs. This time, the Anti-Villain League chooses five Minions and gives them abilities, forming the Mega-Minion team. The excitement and fun really begins when they venture inside the city to rescue residents. Their superpowers are inspired by famous
